Though job placement is not guaranteed, every student who follows our professional advice and actively seeks out teaching jobs using our resources will be successful finding work. We have a partner language institute that hires directly from the course each month, and recruiters know where to come when they need a teacher. All graduates find jobs within 2-3 weeks of graduation. The staff is well connected and they’ll do everything they can to help you find the job you want. Plus, the international resume builder workshop included in the course will prove highly beneficial.

Most employers will ask you to commit to at least six months, though you can negotiate a higher hourly rate if you’re willing/able to commit to one year or longer.

Probably not. Most schools have at least one other foreign teacher on staff, and some have up to 12.

What amount of support can I expect as part of the TEFL Prague Program?
After you’re enrolled, you’ll be in touch with Anna, our coordinator in Prague who will make sure you have everything in order. Anna organizes your accommodation, airport pick up and Prague travel pass. You will also appreciate her help with setting up a bank account and prepaid card for your phone. Anna is quite good at negotiating with your landlord-to-be if you decide to stay in Prague and need post-course accommodation. Any question or problem, Anna is there to help.
Is visa support included in the TEFL Prague Program?
Yes! All students who are accepted to the Prague TEFL Course will have adequate visa support. Students from EU countries (see the list here) do not need a visa to travel, study and work in the Czech Republic. Citizens from USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and some other countries listed here can travel and study in the Schengen area including the Czech Republic for 180 days without a visa. The course takes 30 days, so there is no problem fitting into the official period. If you want to work in the Czech Republic after the TEFL certification course, our partners will arrange a long-term working visa for you. This requires two trips to a nearby country (Slovakia or Austria) to apply for and collect the visa. Citizens of other countries have to apply for a visa from their country of origin. Our partners will help with the application and the letter of invitation upon acceptance and deposit.
Being a U.S citizen I am curious as to how extensive and costly the Visa process is, and if the Zivno Business Visa is the most common for non-EU citizens?
The visa process including Zivno Business visa, Zivno License, translations and services of an agency costs about $720 USD plus two trips to an embassy abroad (Vienna, Berlin, Bratislava, …). Zivno Business visa is by far the most popular type of visa and 98% of private language schools do not hire teachers with other types of visa. The process usually takes about two months. We have a trustworthy agency helping our students get their visa for a discounted price. They have an excellent track record. All our students who have applied for the visa have received it.
Is it safe to teach English in Prague?
Prague is a safe, tourist-filled city, but it pays to be vigilant. Always be careful with your personal belongings, no matter where you travel, since petty theft is not unheard of.
Can I apply to the TEFL Prague Program with my friend/spouse/significant other?
Yes! We frequently place friends and couples together. Applicants will have to submit their applications together, and each applicant should be sure to notify us of their intention to be placed together.
