Whether you’re interested in riding a boat through a seven-kilometer cave, trekking to a hill tribe, photographing a floating market, relaxing on a white-sand beach or swimming in the azure ocean water, you can, and our TEFL course in Thailand can help you get there.

Perhaps the best-known nearest beach to Bangkok is Pattaya, a metropolitan city on the eastern Gulf coast with everything your heart desires. For those who want a bustling beach life, rampant night life and every amenity expected from a city all in one, Pattaya is your answer.
Frequently Asked Questions
What will my schedule be like during the TEFL course in Thailand?
Expect a busy schedule Monday – Friday, with class sessions from 10:00am – 5:00pm most days, and 2-3 hours of homework in the evenings. However, your weekends are free to explore via the included excursions or on your own.
Do I need to speak Thai to teach English in Thailand?
Nope! The schools want this to be an English immersion experience for the students, so no Thai spoken in the classroom. However you will get a Thai language course as part of the Premium TEFL Program if you want to learn some basics.
Can I still participate in the TEFL Thailand Program if I don’t have any teaching experience?
No worries! The TEFL certification course will prepare you for everything you need to know to successfully teach English as a foreign language, and it will answer any questions you might have about Thai culture and what to expect in the classroom.
Can I still participate in the TEFL Thailand Program if I’ve never traveled abroad?
No problem. This program is perfect for the first-time traveling teacher.
How long are the teaching contracts after completing the TEFL course in Thailand?
It depends on when you start and where you’re placed. After successful completion of any Thailand TEFL course, our partners will work to place you in a school, and your contract terms will ultimately be between you and the school. Most teachers are simply asked to complete the term they start in, so if you start mid-term your commitment could be as little as 2-3 months or as much as 5 months (a full semester). A few schools will ask for a one-year commitment. Just let the team know what you’re open to and keep in mind that 95% of our teachers decide to re-sign contracts and stay longer than they initially planned.
When does the academic year begin in Thailand?
The first semester begins in May and ends in September. The second starts in November and ends in March. However, we can place teachers year-round.
What if I decide to extend my contract and teach longer in Thailand?
Assuming you’ve successfully fulfilled your first contract, most schools will be more than happy to have you stay longer!
Do you help with the visa process during the TEFL Thailand Program?
Yes! We’ll guide you through the appropriate visa process and provide you with the correct documentation to receive your visa.
Can I still apply for the TEFL Thailand Program if I’m not a native speaker?
That’s okay, as long as you speak, read and write English fluently! You may still participate in our TEFL courses with job placement, though you’ll need to participate in an interview to determine your fluency.
Will I be able to get a job after the TEFL course in Thailand if I don’t have a degree?
That’s okay too, but you’ll likely start at a lower salary than degree holders (usually 25,000 Thai baht per month) and be responsible for sponsoring your own work permit.
While teaching in Thailand, will I be the only foreign teacher at my school?
Probably not. Almost all of our placements have at least one other foreign teacher on staff, and some have up to 12. However, even if there aren’t many foreign coworkers at your school, it’s almost guaranteed there will be others at a nearby school or somewhere in the town.
Can I apply to TEFL Thailand with my friend/spouse/significant other?
Yes! We frequently place friends and couples together. We do our best to get you in the same city if not the same school. Applicants will have to submit their applications together, and each applicant should be sure to notify us of their intention to be placed together.
Is housing included as part of the TEFL Thailand Program?
Accommodation is included for the duration of the three-week premium course, assuming you’re on the premium package, but after that it’s your responsibility. Housing in Thailand is very affordable. Accommodation will typically be Thai-style studio apartments with private bathrooms. Units usually include an A/C unit or fan, hot water, a double-sized bed and closet. Extra amenities like refrigerators or TVs can typically be rented from the landlord. Rental rates vary across the country, but anywhere from 2,500 to 5,000 THB per month can afford you a decent place to live.
Will someone be there to pick me up at the airport when I arrive for the TEFL course in Thailand?
Yes. After you book your flight, just send us the arrival details and we’ll arrange pickup.
Are flights included and booked for me as part of the TEFL Thailand Program?
No, flights are not included in the tuition, and you are responsible for arranging your own travel.
Can I teach in the city/province of my choice after completing the TEFL training course?
You may submit your regional preference (ie north, south, etc.) for a teaching location, but we cannot guarantee that we will be able to honor your request. We work with schools all over the country, and it depends on which schools have a need for teachers at the time of your course graduation.
How big are the classes for foreign teachers in Thailand?
Usually 20-30 students.
How will I get paid while teaching in Thailand?
In most cases, you’ll have help setting up a local Thai bank account with an ATM card, and your monthly checks will be directly deposited. Some schools pay in cash.
Is it easy to send money home from Thailand?
Yes. Almost any bank can exchange your Thai baht into your native currency, and Western Unions are available almost everywhere to send money home. Many teachers send money home to pay student loans and other bills while they’re working in Thailand, and it’s relatively hassle free.
